Autumn Hug Tag

This tutorial was written for Paint Shop Pro7
I'm sure it can be done in other versions with just a few adjustments.

These are the supplies you will need to complete this tutorial

Included is also the font I used,
remember to add to your font file before opening your PSP

Let's get started. Good luck...


1. Open a new imagine 400 by 400 ..this way you will have lots of work space and we will crop the image later.


Can you tell I'm also on the Hugs Cloud,
        In Heavens Angels *smiles*~
   With this tag you will have two options,
         with or without animation!
               YOUR CHOICE!

2. Set your foreground and background color to #7D0600

3.Preset Shapes, use the rounded rectangle, line width 1...
     antialias checked...draw out a tag..
Mine looks like this

4. selections / select all

5. selections / float

6. selections/ modity / contract by 10

7. selections / invert

8. selections / float

9.Upload the gold fill that was in your supplies, and set your foreground and background to that pattern.

10. While the ants are still going around your tag, fill with the gold pattern.
DO NOT DESELECT just yet ~

11. effects/3D-effects/ inner bevel
with these settings

12. Then I used a drop shadow..

                     with these settings:

This is how mine looks now ~
13.selections/ select none

14. If you haven't already uploaded your cbafallssquirrel tube to your PSP work area, now is the time...

15. resize the cbafallssquirrel 75 %

16. click on the cbafallssquirrel tube, then go to edit/copy

17. click on the work area graphic then edit/paste (the tag you are working on)

18. Bring the cbafallssquirrel graphic down below the tag you have created...layers, merge visible.

This is how mine looks now.


19. With your forground and background still on the gold fill pattern, open your text...

I used A&S Snapper Font... Set your font to size 24...Vector checked (you may need to change the settings depending on the font you use)

When you are happy with your text, right click on this layer on your layer palette and change to Raster layer.

18. I used the same Inner Bevel as I did on the gold trim...

with the same settings:

19. Then I used the drop shadow again
effects/3D-effects/ drop shadow
with the same settings:
20.Now we need to add the bow...upload your tube to your work area...
click on it and edit/copy

21. Click back on your tag, and edit/paste, as a new image,
move to the top right hand corner of your tag.

22. I also used a drop shadow

effects/3D-effects/ drop shadow
with the same settings as before..

23.Layers /merge/ merge visible

24. Crop Tool, make sure before you crop that you have all your tag within the area you want to save, image/crop to selection.

25. If you need to resize now would be the time...
Image\resize and make sure all layers are checked.


I resized at 80%

Save as a PSP file for animation...
OR if you want as a tag, with NO animation
save as jpg.(you are finished)

26. Launch your animation shop...

27. Open your PSP Image that you just saved,

29. Make sure you have the WIPE showing, click on the arrow to find....under effects, I have an arrow there. Then click on the customize (arrow also)..and use the above settings.

Now we need to right click on the last frame of your animation and insert an empty frame after it...
right click on the last frame/Insert Frame/Empty

Then click once on the first frame
Edit/Select All
/Edit/Copy/
Animation/Reverse Frames

Right click on the last frame then
Paste/After current selection

You should have 24 frames...

Click On The First frame
Edit/Select All

Animation/ Frame Properties
change to 60


Go to view animation

Go to file, and save as

Yeah, we are done...

Your Tag should look like this now....
